Concert performance for voice, duduk, string quartet and storytelling
Heritage brings Armenian musical heritage to concert stages in the Netherlands in an intimate chamber-music setting for voice, duduk and string quartet, connected through storytelling.
At the heart of the programme are twelve Armenian songs collected and notated by Komitas Vardapet, telling of love, longing, nature, memory and belonging. The vocal works are interwoven with instrumental Armenian songs and dances arranged for string quartet by Sergei Aslamazyan, alongside music from the Armenian liturgical tradition by Makar Yekmalyan.
Heritage presents Armenian musical heritage as living chamber music: rooted in history and shaped for today’s audiences.
